Film and Television Production

The programme enjoys an enviable reputation for its education of students in all aspects of the production processes for film and television. It is progressive, challenging and international in perspective. Over the years, graduate work has featured at all the major film festivals as well as earning Academy Award nominations.

Professional links are central to our programme. This is confirmed by the number of graduates now connected to major Irish companies including BBC NI, RTE, TV3 and TG4. We aim to match technological advancements and actively engage with new and emerging approaches to content development. We place an emphasis on the acquisition of skill whilst also encouraging creativity, critical and independent thinking and the evolution of innovative approaches to film and television practice.

The work of this year's graduating students offers a broad and eclectic mix of styles and approaches to the medium. A wide range of issues and themes are represented in the student's work, quirky comedy, drama, science fiction, documentary, experimental works, commercials and children's television entertainment.

This year's graduates are well equipped to embark upon demanding and fulfilling careers in the film and television industry. We congratulate each one and wish them all every success.

We are members of The International Association of Film and Television Schools (CILECT) and The National Association of Higher Education and the Moving Image UK (NAHEMI). Thanks to all the industry practitioners and visitors who contributed to the programme this year, to our external assessor Lynda Myles of the National Film and Television School, Beaconsfield UK.
